pmI work in the maritime trnospart industry, and the regulations we undergo are ridiculous. For one, so many of the regulations try to go across far too large a spectrum. A 6000 horsepower riverboat pushing 30 barges up and down the Mississippi river is not the same animal as a petroleum carrying ocean vessel that comes up to New Orleans to offload it's cargo, however, both are held to many of the same standards in navigation equipment, safety equipment, communication, and a myriad of other things. The safety regulations out here baffle me. For example, our fire suppression systems use an older style of Halon, a heavier than atmosphere gas that will displace the oxygen in a compartment and smother a fire, should we have one. The old stuff is fine to have, UNLESS, it is removed. In other words, what we have in our suppression tanks is fine to have, but were we to do maintenance on the system, such as replacing older piping, we couldn't hook the old tanks back up. They would have to be replaced with a new formulation of Halon that does the same thing. The same kind of ruling goes into effect in our kitchens. The boat I'm on has no fire suppression system installed in the vent system above our stove. That's fine, perfectly to code. However, if we DID have a system installed, it must be to a very very strict set of compliances. It seems that if (not that I necessarily agree that it should) something is going to be regulated if you DO have it, then it should be a requirement, and if it's deemed that you DON'T need it, then what's the harm in having a smaller, but still secondary, protection that doesn't interfere with any other safety feature. I just don't understand the regulatory mindset. It seems to defy my common sense.

Hi Robert. Well, for starters you're going to have to go tohurgh the training all over again like you never drove a truck before. You didn't mention if you still have your CDL or not, but even if you do you'll have to go out on the road with a trainer for a few weeks. No big deal, really. But it does mean you'll have to go with a company that has training in the first place which likely means a larger carrier. With the bad economy, I'd say you should take a look at some of the larger refrigerated carriers like KLLM, England, Stevens, Prime, or Central Refrigerated. I wouldn't worry yourself do death over which company you choose. If they're a well-established carrier with a fairly large fleet, you know you can make things work out. You know how they should be treating you and you know if you'll need to switch dispatchers and all that. You've been there. Take a look at our page on . If you have your CDL you may not need to go tohurgh the schooling, but they may want you to play around in the yard backing up trucks for a couple days and going over the newer logbook rules just to freshen you up and it's probably a really good idea for you to do so. Hey, what's a few days in the yard, right? Nothin to it. Take a look at some of those companies on that page along with the other companies that I had mentioned. Make a few phone calls, tell them your situation, and see what they say. I'm sure several of them would love to have you as long as your record has stayed decent these past few years. Best of luck to ya! Enjoy being back out there! Hey, they have cell phones, GPS, wi-fi, and Satellite communications now! Remember when we had to rely on notebooks, payphones, and $5 maps???? LOL! I do not consider those the good ole' days ! I love the new technology which makes life so much easier out there now! Good luck!

Most trucks went naoerwrr in the frame rails after the 80 s make sure your frame rails are the same lenght apart and the mounting holes are in the same location. The bumbers may have different mounting positions. If you put on a 96 bumper gaurd it may not line up with the body on your 88 the trucks have different style head lights im not sure what your looking to do if your wanting a full face guard or a center guard depending on what you want the center of the grill in your 88 maybe wider then that of a 96 check all these and if you order one make sure you can return it if it doesnt line up. Also i know with the chevys you can convert your front grill to a newer style if you can find one of these conversion kits that may be well worth your while for my Caddy grill on my 84 silverado i had to first convert it to a 88 so i could do it this changed only the radator support and the mounting holes were the same spot so try to find one of these kits for your Ford.

I had a recent disocssiun with an older friend about the lack of importance of newspapers. My argument is that by the time a newspaper is published, it is old news. No one is counting on a paper for the most updated information. He went out of town for a few days. When he came home, was he planning on reading a week's worth of papers? News happens so fast, I want to hear about it as it is happening. It turns out, my friend's picture was appearing in the print edition and not the online version.I watch NY1 every morning and they do a segment at around 7:42am, 8:42am, etc called In the Papers , where they highlight the most important articles for the busy New Yorkers. (I was a bit disappointed when I heard encyclopedias will no longer be published.) http://yjrhbuzbtn.com naxxbxoyvk [link=http://akqrlstanu.com]akqrlstanu[/link]
